It seemed that she had grown up iso much in the week the two had spent apart. He watched as she handled the paper bags and took them towards the kitchen of his unit.
The young author obeyed Aidan and remained on the mattress. He was very pleased that she decided to live in his unit for a week, and he probably would’ve suggested it if she hadn’t done so. “Will we be sharing a mattress again?” Mark said with a grin. Oh, how he missed the feeling of her on his chest. Her being so close to him, their heart beats colliding with each others. The boy nodded off for a bit as Aidan prepared their supper. His dreams were filled with the two of them, together and happy. The one thing that took him back to reality was his girlfriend’s voice, letting him know supper is ready to be served.
Mark followed behind Aidan to the kitchen, and took a seat. As he turned to face Aidan once again, he saw her holding a bottle of wine. Mark grinned once again, “Maybe we could have a glass or two after dinner, or later tonight.” Having Aidan here in his unit had banished the headache that’s taken control of his brain for the past week, like she was some kind of medication for him.
The two sat quietly for a while, “This is very good, Aidan. Thank you” mark said to end the silence. As he was saying this, Aidan had asked her own question. The words hit Mark and brought his headache back instantly. Maybe the worrying brought the headache upon him. The wondering of what went wrong, what could’ve been done to save their baby, what became of his soul afterwards. Mark struggled to answer. “I do think about him… Just you and him. You two have been the only thing on my mind since… he left.”
Mark tried to take another bite of his supper, but his stomach had turned and became uneasy. Then Aidan’s apologies came spilling out of her. “Aidan, it’s not your fault. Don’t ever think it is your fault.” He stood up from his seat and stood behind Aidan’s wrapping his arms around her body. “I love you so much.”
